SaleTrek Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 7, 2026
SaleTrek ("SaleTrek", "we", "us") is published by Weathered Industries LLC, based in Illinois, USA. This policy explains what information the SaleTrek app collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email support.saletrek@gmail.com.
Note: Weathered Industries LLC is being formed in Illinois; the legal entity name shown here may change, and we will update this document if it does.
Information you give us
- Account: your email address and password. Sign-in is handled by our hosting provider, Supabase; passwords are stored only in hashed form and we cannot see them.
- Profile: your display name and, if you choose, a profile photo (stored in our file storage).
- Sale listings: the title, description, dates and times, sale type, categories, item names and prices, street address and map coordinates, and photos you add to a sale.
- Marketplace listings: the item title, description, price, category, photos, and your town (never your street address) for individual items you list for local pickup.
- Marketplace offers: the offers, counter-offers, and accepted or declined prices on Marketplace items (your offer history).
- In-app messages: messages you send to and receive from other users (for example about a Marketplace item). We store them so they can be delivered and shown in your conversations, and we may review them if a message or listing is reported, to keep the service safe.
- Community Sale Days: if you organize a group sale event, its name, dates, area, and description; if you join one, the link between your sale and that event.
- Reports: if you report a sale, Marketplace listing, user, or message, we store the report, the reason, and any note you add. Admins are notified so the report can be reviewed.
- Blocks: if you block another user, we store that you blocked them. We use that to hide their sales, listings, offers, and messages from you and to stop them from messaging you or making you an offer. They are not told that you blocked them.
- Purchases: when you buy a boost, we receive a record of what you bought, for which sale, and when (not your card or payment details). We also record whether you have used your one free Featured boost.
- Messages to us: anything you send to our support email.
Information collected automatically or with your permission
- Device location: with your permission, we use your device's location to show nearby sales, measure distances, and plan routes. You can turn this off in your device settings; the app still works with a manually chosen area.
- Push notification token: if you allow notifications, we store a token that lets us send notifications to your device, plus your notification preferences.
- Saved sales, favorites, and follows: the sales you save and the sellers you follow. Your follows are private; other users (including the seller) cannot see who follows them.
- Basic technical data: like most online services, our providers may log IP addresses, device and app version, and timestamps when the app talks to their servers, for security and troubleshooting.
We do not use third-party advertising, ad networks, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Marketplace listings
- Marketplace listings show only your town, not your address. You decide what to share with a buyer in messages.
- Marketplace listings expire 30 days after posting unless you renew them, and are then hidden from other users.
How sale addresses are shown
- When you post a sale, you choose when the exact address is shown: always, the morning of the sale (6 AM), 1 hour before it starts, or when it starts.
- Until then, other users see only an approximate location (a general area, not your house). Our database enforces this, so the exact address and coordinates are not sent to other users' devices early.
- About 1 hour after a sale ends, the sale and its address are hidden from other users, and copies saved by other users are automatically removed from their saved lists.
Remember that anything you put in a public listing (address, photos, description) can be seen by other users once it is shown. Avoid photos that show people, license plates, or other details you do not want to share.
How we use information
- To run the app: create your account, show and search sales, reveal addresses at the right time, plan routes, and send notifications you've asked for.
- To process boosts and show paid placements.
- To keep the service safe: prevent abuse, fraud, and spam, filter offensive language from sale and listing titles and descriptions, chat messages, and display names, and enforce our Terms of Service. We review user reports and will take action within 24 hours.
- To respond to support requests and send important account or service notices.
- To comply with the law.
Who we share information with
We share information only as needed to run the app:
- Supabase: hosts our database, sign-in, and file storage (including item and profile photos).
- Routing (OSRM): when you plan a route, the coordinates of your starting point and stops are sent to an OSRM routing server to calculate driving directions.
- Address search (Photon / OpenStreetMap): when you type an address, your search text and an approximate location (to show nearby results) are sent to the Photon geocoding service.
- Expo (by 650 Industries): delivers push notifications to your device using your push token and the notification text, and delivers app updates (which logs basic device and app version information).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): on Android, push notifications are delivered through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging service.
- Google Maps services: if enabled in a given version of the app, Google Maps and Google Places may provide maps, address search, or routing instead, and receive your search text and locations, and opening directions in a maps app sends your route to that app's provider.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: process all payments. RevenueCat manages purchase records for us and receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase details, but not your card details.
- Other users: your display name, profile photo, and your sale listings (subject to the address rules above) are visible to other users.
- Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or Weathered Industries LLC.
- Business transfers: if Weathered Industries LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that deal, subject to this policy.
These providers have their own privacy policies and process data on our behalf or as needed to provide their service.
In-app purchases and sponsored listings
SaleTrek offers optional one-time boosts for a sale: Featured ($2.99), Top Spot ($4.99), and a "starting soon" alert ($0.99). Prices may vary by country and may change. Boosted sales are clearly labeled as "Sponsored". Your first Featured boost as a seller is free. A boost lasts for the dates of the sale it was bought for. There is currently no third-party advertising in the app.
Retention
- We keep your account and profile while your account is active.
- Sales and addresses are hidden from other users about 1 hour after the sale ends. We may keep a record of past sales in your account until you delete them or your account.
- Purchase records may be kept as needed for accounting, tax, and fraud prevention, even after account deletion, but are no longer linked to your profile where possible.
- Push tokens are removed when you sign out, turn off notifications, or delete your account.
- Backups and logs are kept for a limited time and then overwritten.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account in the app at Profile > Delete account. This deletes your profile, your sales, Marketplace listings and their photos, your messages, your saved sales, follows, blocks, and notification settings. You can also email support.saletrek@gmail.com from the address on your account to ask us to delete it, and we will do so within a reasonable time and as required by law. We may need to verify your identity first. Some records may remain for a short time in backups, or where we must keep them by law. Deleting your account does not cancel or refund purchases made through Apple or Google.
Your rights and choices
- Access and correct: you can view and edit your profile and sales in the app.
- Delete: you can delete your account in the app or by emailing us.
- Location and notifications: you can turn these off anytime in your device settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Virginia, and other U.S. states, or outside the U.S.), you may have additional rights, such as to know what personal information we hold, get a copy, correct or delete it, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. To make a request, email support.saletrek@gmail.com. We will verify your request, respond within the time the law requires, and won't discriminate against you for using these rights. Illinois residents: we do not collect biometric identifiers or biometric information (such as face scans or fingerprints). You may use an authorized agent where the law allows, and appeal a decision by replying to our response.
Children
SaleTrek is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, post sales, or use the Marketplace. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access rules that limit who can read or change data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee the security of your information, and you share it at your own risk. Use a strong, unique password and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Where data is processed
We and our providers process data in the United States and possibly other countries, which may have different data protection laws than where you live. SaleTrek is intended for users in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use SaleTrek after a change means you accept the updated policy.
